But after about a month of poling I see a lot of muscle gains but not much fat loss. Do I have to add another cardio exercise along with pole? Anyone here lost a significant amount of fat doing pole? And very importantly, cut down on your calories. But no, poling alone will not help you lose a lot of fat.
Caption: vegetables and fruits are cut and arranged in serving dishes. The word alone can send us into a topsy-turvy tailspin, and not the good kind we need to do aerials. Try things out and always do what is best for you and your body. Since aerials is a combination of strength training and cardio, we need protein to strengthen and repair our muscles so we can improve and perform our tricks, as well as to give us the slow burn we need to survive a floorwork or dance class. Yet athletes need to double this to 1. This is assuming you eat as maintenance and your goal is strength or hypertrophy. But what does all this mean practically? The below table can help you see how much protein some key foods offer.
I have pondered on many an occasion if there is some sort of magic food that you can gobble down before pole training that will turn you into a god damn machine during a session. Seriously, if any budding Willy Wonkas out there are working on a magic chocolate bar that turns you into Felix Cane, I volunteer myself to be a taste test guinea pig for your project. These are purely the opinions and experiences of myself and other dancers. I for one am taking note! Not sure if they have these outside the USA. Sometimes I mix in a banana or an orange. Or my little water and sugar pockets. They are bitesize, great for maintaining hydration and energy and give me time to think between moves and best of all they are light and taste lovely and refreshing.
What do you guys eat before hardcore training? I tend to go for something sweet which is good enough to last me I find coffee helps but I avoid that if the workout is in the evening. I try to eat about 30 minutes to 1. Usually lean meat or eggs. I typically pole around dinner time so I try to eat enough to carry me through the workout successfully. I hate the taste of protein bars, so I could never get into it. Banana is always handy too before or after.
